Doctors are trying to figure out where the deadly E. Coli outbreak is coming from. Already it has claimed 18 people and 1,800 cases. That is one in every 100 people infected dying of E. Coli, and most of it is coming from Germany. WHO, or the World Health Organization, has found that the bacteria has spread to 12 countries.
Before I go into more detail about the strain of E. Coli, let's first see what the bacteria does. According to Wikipedia (Which could be totally unreliable), E. Coli causes Food Poisoning, which happens when a person ingests unwashed vegetables and undercooked meat. It also causes the STD symptom of Urinary Tract Infection. (This I learned in sex ed)
Doctors and scientist in many of the infected countries are still trying to find out the source of this rare strain of E. Coli. Personally, I think it was caused by people not cooking their meat enough or eating tomatoes right off the vine. Let us just hope the scientists find an answer soon!
(It feels like I'm talking about a zombie epidemic!)
