Sony: Hacked Again?
On June 3, 2011, Sony's network was hacked. This is not a first, as Sony had the Playstation network hacked before. Sony says that it isn't entirely their fault that they were hacked multiple times. But it seems to be their fault that their servers are easy to hack and exploit, and I am starting to believe that they are doing it on purpose. Lulzsec, the hacker responsible for both hack successes, made it clear that Sony was it's target. What do I think? That Sony should stop worrying about their sales and start worrying about the security of the company! Of course, they can't make it completely hack-proof, but if a hacker can hack the system twice, that's a shame. Andrew Brandt, a threat research analysist, agrees, "Lulz Security says the information they stole was entirely unencrypted, and while we can't verify Lulz's statements, we can say that companies should take this as a warning to check their internal methods of storing their costomer's information." Hopefully Sony, and other companies like Microsoft, will take this warning and use it.
