According to NPR, video game developers are starting to lean towards video games that let you control the story. Now they are making better storylines, more control over those storylines, and better endings than other titles with black and white endings. Also, character development will be a more important factor.
Now, going back to the article I wrote on the supreme court, this makes video games MORE of a type of art. Video games bieng art used to be great areas and character design, but now video games are going to have a story. To quote what Ken Levine, Creative Director (Overseer for product design) for International Games, says "Photographs tell stories. Movies tell stories. Songs tell stories. Games tell stories."
Story-telling video games are definitely not new, and also ones where you control the story. Games like Bioshock and Fallout 3 have an Evil/Good system to tell your ending. Games like Deadrising have a set ending system, but you still have to make choices. And Fallout New Vegas has factions you can follow to determine your ending. This is not new, but it can be improved upon.
P.S. I can't WAIT for Bioshock Infinite!
