According to CNN, kids aged around 5-12 are starting to use facebook. Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg thinks that this won't be a problem, and wants to make the site open to children under 18. The news article lists many things that will most likely change in the upcoming years, and I shall give my opinions on some of them:
Game Invites... Hmmm. You know, I used to be one of those people who spammed other people to start playing games. I really was, but now facebook for me is just a way to see what people are doing. I really don't want a bunch of invites from little kids to play more games.
"Virtual Horseplay"? Really Facebook? Anyone remember the poke system? Anyone? I think it's still around. Now if there were a shove button... Shove Everyone! I would actually "like" it, but really?
I really don't believe that facebook is a place for kids under, say, 10. 9 at least. But under that is a bit too young, because of a lot of the adult content. But I did forget to talk about something. Many people, My friends, even me, lied about our ages to get a facebook. Maybe there is no way around it, little kids are going to get a facebook.
