According to Time Healthland, experts say that time spent in front of a TV or computer has a huge impact on a person's health. AAP (American Academy of Pediatrics') says that media not only influences kids to be inactive, but also to have bad eating habits, which would have a huge impact on if they are obese when they are adults. What does AAP say the problem is? Food advertisements!
Now here is my problem with this: Food advertisements don't take over your body and make you eat something, they just make the food appealing. It's like when my Aunt heard an advertisement about Mcdonald's Chicken Nuggets. She had been wanting them, but not because the advertisement told her to, but because she chose to want them. Eating habits are not picked up from TV, but from the people around you. A kid usually picks up eating habits from their parents, so you know what AAP? Don't blame the TV, blame the parents!
